What You Should Know About Clearing Human Body Energies And Why You Should Care
We are energetic beings; we have energies and energetic systems that protect us from illness, injury, and which inform our daily lives.
Many cultures and systems of healing identify various energy systems: Ayurveda with its chakras, nadis, and prana energy, Chinese Medicine with its Qi and the meridians which hold it, indigenous healers of the Andes with their manqos wasi, hucha, and sami, and also regular old Western new age healers who speak of our energy bodies -- think: Barbara Brennan school of energetic healing.
Ayurveda tells us that our chakras, our spinning wheels of light, are responsible for bringing in and moderating energies from the environment so that our bodies can use it properly. Ayurveda is also keen on making sure that the chakras are clear, healthy, and spinning appropriately. Chinese Medicine places great importance on the regular and orderly flow of Qi in the body, through the meridians and acupoints. When Qi does not flow properly, it stagnates. Stagnant Qi creates conditions which create illness. At the very least, stagnant qi creates emotional imbalances that lie heavy on the wearer.
My teacher from the Andes cautions about accumulating hucha, dense, unmetabolizable energy that humans beings manufacture and which clouds our luminous body. Clearing one's hucha is hugely important; this teacher says that accumulation of hucha is the source of all illness. Barbara Brennan, energy healer and creator of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing speaks of layers of energies that surround the human body, creating the templates for our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Her books describe how illness develops when these energies are not well-formed or damaged.
The thing that each of these systems has in common is that they each teach that illness begins first in the energy system, and later shows up in the body.
My teachers have all taught this, regardless of tradition. Thus, keeping our energies healthy, regardless of which system we are using as our lens, is of utmost importance for us as humans. Unhealthy energies create dysfunction in the form of pain, chronic illness, lethargy, depression, headache, and a host of other problems. Being in offices, behind computers and not connected with the Earth is a very difficult situation for us, energetically. My Peruvian teacher is very clear that correcting our energetic imbalances can be deeply healing, including physically. I have witnessed a very dramatic example of this.
One excellent way to start reversing your energetic imbalances and dysfunction is to be in contact with the Earth each day, simply walking barefoot, or "earthing". The benefits of "earthing" are being corroborated by study:
Emerging evidence shows that contact with the Earth—whether being outside barefoot or indoors connected to grounded conductive systems—may be a simple, natural, and yet profoundly effective environmental strategy against chronic stress, ANS dysfunction, inflammation, pain, poor sleep, disturbed HRV, hypercoagulable blood, and many common health disorders, including cardiovascular disease. The research done to date supports the concept that grounding or earthing the human body may be an essential element in the health equation along with sunshine, clean air and water, nutritious food, and physical activity.

My Peruvian teacher simply says that the Pachamama has the perfect energetic signature for us; all of our molecules came from her, after all. If we but connect to her and ask that our energies be cleared, she will do this for us. Practitioners of qi gong have known this for a long time, as well: vibrant energies come to us and inform us from the outside, from the Earth.
Note that there are also other energies and energy fields which impinge upon our body energies, such as the energy fields of curses, ancestral pressures, and thoughtforms, thought-made-form, which manifests as intrusions into our energy bodies. These man-made energies can also be cleared by shamanic and constellation methods.
The Japanese have a special phrase for being healed by the Pachamama: shinrin-yoku, or "Forest Therapy"; simply being healed by being in the forest.
Take your Medicine! Go outside now, take off your shoes, and spend an hour barefoot, recailbrating your energy system.
